One of the most common struggles I see in workshops is...
how to make water lie flat in your painting.
Here's a TIP : realize when you are painting what you see as the bottom of the rocks or ground, that you are not painting the base of either. People tend to have the bottom of the shape follow the perspective to the horizon line. But, because you are not painting the base, rather you are painting the water line and since water always levels itself, you're painting a horizontal surface and the base of the rock or ground is below the water line. Remembering this, and overlapping as you come forward are two things that will make your water look more realistic. J.R. Baldini
