In just a few days I'll be heading to St. Lucia for some plein air painting and a bit of R&R.
Looking forward to painting with the Lucian Plein Air painters again.
I am also greatly looking forward to sun, sun, sun !!

If you don't know St. Lucia, it's called the 'Helen of the West Indies'.
I renamed it the 'Heaven of the West Indies'.

St Lucia has a temp of about 80 degrees in winter and the most dramatic cloud formations you have ever seen. I call them 'passion clouds'...

In 3 days, I will be the one with the biggest smile on my face.

Plein Air Painting Workshop- St. Lucia Caribbean

Plein Air Painting Workshop- St. Lucia Caribbean
Oil/Acrylic painting workshop is hands on with full days of painting
and critiques.

St. Lucia, Pitons, Oil on canvas(John Turchin Art Gallery)
Classes will be held from 10 am - 4:30 pm daily.

Demonstrations capturing light patterns using grisalle and composition
will be emphasized. Critiques will be held for suggestion and
individual critiques can be arranged for some of your current work.
Days are spent painting in and around the Rodney Bay & surrounding
areas.
The workshop is very *Caribbean*, very relaxed.

Plein Air Painter - Aruba Paintings

Watercolors painted on the island of Aruba.
The island is clean, friendly and the climate is wonderful for plein air
painting. There is always a strong breeze, so securing an easel is difficult and because I was painting on a watercolor block, I could paint without one, and position myself comfortably in the shade without a plein air umbrella.


Funny, how people from the same country can stike up a friendship on holidays - we meet Herb Reed (from the Platters) in our hotel bar one afternoon and a few afternoons after that...he really liked a pair of sunglasses my husband was wearing and we gave them to him. Then,we had a running gag, we'd send a different pair of sunglasses backstage, whenever he was in the area, and he'd dedicate a song to us.

Lots of security around, especially in Oranjestad.
